Top 6 Travel Apps You Need on a Last Minute Getaway

The January blues are bleeding over into February, and we’re all dreaming of jetting off for a quick break somewhere nice. So here’s our favourite 6 travel apps to help you make the most of your time away!

1.kayak

Kayak is a great app powered by www.kayak.com, searching travel websites across the globe to find you the best deals, allowing you to make the best first steps of a trip away, and ensuring you get a good deal on your airfare and hotel.

2. packing pro

Packing Pro has just been nominated as a finalist for the 6th Best App Ever Awards (with 10 finalists chosen out of 50,000 iOS Travel Apps). Basically it’s a mobile packing application that gives you unlimited, bespoke packing lists, handy template lists, collapsible categories and sorting and filtering options.

3. trip it

Trip It allows you to keep track of all your email reservations and confirmations in one easy place by emailing them to plans@tripit.com once you’ve installed the app and it will keep everything in a nice, easy to use, single page which you can share with friends and family.

4. tripboss

Trip Boss has also been entered as a finalist for the 6th Best App Ever Awards, and travel itineraries including micro plans, daily route plans and a handy travel time calculator.

5. around me

Around Me is a great app where you can search pharmacies, petrol stations, restaurants, bars, cinemas, hotels, etc. It’s a great app if you find yourself with a spare evening and want to make the most of your local area.

6. iTranslate

iTranslate is the easiest and fastest way I have found to ask urgent questions such as “where is the nearest toilet” in any language. It’s a godsend when you find yourself stuck, and even offers the ability to listen to the translation in over 20 main languages.
