Top 7 Cloud Storage Apps

There are so many cloud based storage options to choose from, some are good for one thing, and others for other things. So I’ve takien the liberty of breaking down my Top 7 cloud storage options, and tried to highlight their little different quirks to help you choose the right one for you.

1. Dropbox

If, like us, you often share large documents with colleagues, Dropbox is a great way to share content. Utilising Dropbox, it works like a folder on your desktop, but is accessible from the Dropbox cloud (i.e from anywhere with internet connection and the necessary link), you can share a myriad of file types from any device, including PCs and Macs, iPads, iPhones and laptops.

One of the best things about Google Drive is how much free storage it offers. You get 15GB of free storage space, which in comparison to Dropbox’s 2GB and Apple’s 5GB seems surprisingly generous. The downside is if you have loads of emails in your Gmail account, because those free 15GB are shared with your Gmail or Googlemail account.

3. JustCloud

JustCloud offers an excellent free online storage solution, The best thing about JustCloud is that it offers unlimited storage, so you can save just about everything you need to. It’s also super secure, utilising 256-bit secured socket layer encryption.

4. SugarSync

SugarSync app Recognised as one of the leading cloud based storage solutions, SugarSync’s best selling point is its universal sync platform, meaning users can choose any folder from which to sync and share files which makes collaborating really easy. It’s also one of the most secure options, utilising 128-bit AES encrypted format when storing files in the cloud.

5. Backblaze

Backblaze is one of the most popular cloud based storage apps, with 5 star reviews online. It’s the ideal choice if you’re looking for affordable personal cloud based storage solutions. The company is right on top of current technology updates, and is reknowned for being really easy to use, and affordable at only $5 a month.

6. Carbonite

Carbonite app

The company has backed up over 100 billion files, so this app has well and truly been tested, and has proved itself to be very effective. Various packages are available to suit your individual needs, including the HomePremier edition which allows unlimited storage for 1 or more computers. There is a data allowance to ensure fair usage, but this is another excellent and secure cloud based storage solution.

7. Zip Cloud

Unlimited Zip Cloud storage costs $4.95, with incorporated file versioning, automatic backup, file sharing and you can also get a free trial to try it out which we’d highly recommend you try out. Everything other than the initial setup is automated, so it’s really easy to use.
