Apple Seeks Worldwide iCloud Music Rights

September 30, 2011

According to CNET, Apple are currently seeking Worldwide music rights.

Apple managers are hoping to acquire licenses that could potentially enable them to store music on their servers for customers to access across the globe, say sources. Agreements have not yet been finalised, but seem imminent.

Apple has been in discussions with various music publishers and record companies in order to acquire the music licenses for the iCloud service. The licenses would be like those already owned by the company for the US territories, and if they are acquired in time, may be part of the iPhone 5 rollout.
